Our Services
Our services range from basic primary care and preventative medicine to chemotherapy and tertiary referral care. We are constantly seeking to expand our services to help meet the needs of our patient population.
Prenatal Care
Careful prenatal care is one of the bedrocks of our hospital foundation. Including new prenatal consultations as well as follow-ups, our team of nurse mid-wives and doctors see approximately 2000 expectant mothers per month.
Obstetrics & Gynecology
Our hospital was conceived and built largely to provide excellent obstetrical care and timely access to life-saving cesarean sections (c-section).
Today we welcome on average 9-10 newborn babies per day, 11% of whom are delivered by c-section. Our two obstetrician-gynecologists also perform a full range of gynecologic surgery.
Neonatology
Several years ago we converted an external hallway of our pediatric building into a neonatal intensive care unit fully equipped with 20 incubators, 2 warmers, bubble CPAP, and four neonatal ventilators. Our pediatric head nurse has received training in neonatal care and places umbilical catheters, administers surfactant, and manages the unit. Each month we admit more than 30 premature babies.
Pediatrics
Our busy pediatric department performs approximately 500 consultations per month. we also admit close to 600 patients per month including newborns, premature infants, general pediatric patients, and pediatric surgical patients. We perform very specialized care including but not limited to the full range of pediatric surgery, malaria, malnutrition, neonatal sepsis, respiratory failure, sickle cell disease, diabetes, tuberculosis, HIV, and oncology.
Pediatric Surgery
We perform approximately 100 operations a month including ventro-peritoneal shunts for hydrocephalus, Spina bifida repair, cleft-lip and cleft palate repairs, endoscopy, thoracic procedures including esophageal atresia repair and diaphragmatic hernia repairs.
We also treat gastroschisis and omphalocele, Hirschsprung’s disease, imperforate anus, hypospadias, burns, and various orthopedic conditions.
